Kellen F. Murphy

MANAGING PARTNER

Kellen F. Murphy is the Managing Partner and a founding member of Murphy Schiller & Wilkes LLP (MSW), where he also serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. A trusted advisor to institutional owners, developers, and investors, Kellen concentrates his practice on complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and sophisticated leasing matters across the multi-family, office, industrial, retail, and mixed‑use sectors. He regularly structures real estate holding entities, joint ventures, and other investment vehicles, guiding clients through every stage of a transaction with a practical, business‑oriented approach.

Kellen has been recognized by ROI‑NJ, BINJE, and NJBIZ as a leading figure in New Jersey’s commercial real estate industry. He is also a recipient of the NJBIZ Leaders in Law award, honoring his contributions to the legal profession. In 2022, he served as lead counsel on the NAIOP‑NJ Mixed‑Use Deal of the Year, reflecting his role in some of the state’s most significant and transformative development projects.

Before co‑founding MSW, Kellen practiced at Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland & Perretti LLP, one of New Jersey’s most established law firms. He also served as a legal and regulatory advisor to Commissioner Harold J. Wirths at the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, where he gained valuable experience navigating complex governmental and regulatory frameworks.

Kellen earned his law degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from West Virginia University. He also holds a graduate certificate in labor and employment relations from Rutgers University.

Kellen lives in Red Bank, New Jersey, with his wife, Cassie, and their daughters, Madeline and Charlotte.
